Michael Shevlin is a combination of Registered Professional Engineer and Registered Patent Attorney. For more than twenty years he has used both these skills to protect the Intellectual Property (IP) of many nationally recognized companies and individuals. In 2012, he formed a specialized law firm to serve client needs with respect to intellectual property, including patents and trademarks. Trained in engineering, Michael worked for over thirteen years as an engineer, gaining broad engineering experience at nationally recognized companies, and obtained a Professional Engineering license from the State of California. During this time he went to night school and earned his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and passed the California Bar Exam and USPTO Patent Exam to become a Registered Patent Attorney. This education and experience as an engineer provides a strong foundation for understanding the varied scientific disciplines needed to communicate with inventors.
